School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS) has successfully hosted a three-day conference recently, for the final year students of SBSS from the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing), and Bachelor of Business Administration (Human Resource Management) programmes.
The conference, themed “Rethinking Businesses for Sustainable Impact: Aligning HRM and Marketing with SDGs,” featured keynote speeches and parallel sessions on human resource management and marketing led by Associate Professor Dr. Norizan Azizan and Ms. Hla Theingi Win (Ms. Sharifah), as well as a social business conference hosted by Associate Professor Dr. Suraya Hanim Mokhtar.
These conferences provided a platform for presenting innovative projects and discussing scholarly manuscripts, with a focus on enhancing students’ leadership, teamwork, communication, and event-planning skills. Students participated in various activities, including paper and poster presentations, allowing them to apply their knowledge of marketing, human resource management, and social business in practical scenarios. This hands-on experience enabled them to demonstrate their ability to translate academic insights into real-world applications and develop essential skills.
AIU is committed to offering platforms where students can collaborate, innovate, and lead initiatives that support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These opportunities are designed to prepare them for future leadership roles in both business and social sectors.
