A group of participants comprised of Albukhary International University (AIU) students from Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (BECE) Programme took part in a hands-on learning experience at Zoo Taiping, Perak on the 10th of September 2024. This programme was designed to deepen students’ understanding of social studies through wildlife conservation and environmental education.
Zoo Taiping, recognized for its strong commitment to conservation and education, provided the perfect environment for this experiential learning initiative.
Participants explored the zoo’s exhibits, volunteered by cleaning and feeding the animals, and engaged in meaningful conversations with zoo staff about animal welfare and biodiversity. This initiative effectively bridged theoretical concepts with practical applications, encouraging community involvement and environmental stewardship.
