Recently, Albukhary International University (AIU) has received visit from the delegation of Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad (HAP SENG), led by Madam Amidah Abidin, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit, and Mr. Ahmad Zarif Akmal, CSR Executive. Their visit focused on exploring collaborative opportunities to support deserving and talented students from rural areas in Sabah to pursue tertiary education at AIU.
HAP SENG is a public company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. It operates a diverse portfolio with six core businesses: plantation, property, credit financing, automotive, trading, and building materials. The company has a history of funding and organizing educational development activities across Sabah, including Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, and Lahad Datu. Their initiatives have positively impacted over 3,000 students and teachers in the region.
During the visit, representatives from HAP SENG and AIU have discussed the strategies to identify and support bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Sabah. The partnership aims to offer scholarships, mentorship programmes, and a win-win collaboration to ensure these students have access to quality education.
