The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) has recently completed a comprehensive audit of the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Programme at Albukhary International University (AIU). Conducted over two days on September 19 – 20, 2024, the audit aimed to evaluate the programme’s quality and adherence to national and international educational standards.
The Panel of Assessors (POA) included Associate Professor Dr. Ahmad Azam Sulaiman @ Mohamad from Universiti Malaya, Associate Professor Dr. Zainizam bin Zakariya from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, and MQA representative Puan Masfidayanti binti Mokhtar. They thoroughly examined various aspects of the programme, including curriculum design, teaching methods, assessment procedures, research activities, and student support services.
The audit involved in-depth interviews with students and academic staff, alongside document reviews and site inspections to gather detailed data on the programme’s performance and infrastructure.
The final accreditation decision is pending, with results to be announced after the Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Akreditasi (MJA) in October 2024. This outcome is crucial for AIU, as it could enhance the programme’s reputation and improve graduate employability in the competitive economics field.
